Hi, I am Claude and welcome to Acts.net.

This topics "Baptism or Not" has 14 chapters that we will be walking through together.

Acts 2:38, Acts 15, Acts 18:8, Acts 22:16, Colossians 2:11-12, 1 Peter 3:21, Galatians 3:27, John 3:5,
Romans 6:3, Galatians 2:15-21, Matthew 3:13-17, 1 Peter 3:20-22, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Mark 1:9-11

We are going to talk about the ONE true baptism.

Everything in baptism has meaning.

The meaning is in the sermon.

We will start with John 3:5, "Jesus answered, "I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born of water and spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." This is an easy one to follow, and He also gave us a warning. You must believe in Christ, and you must get baptized.

The disciple Paul believed in one thing, and Peter believed something else. That is how their dispute started. Galatians 2:15-21, "We are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners, yet we know that no one is justified by the works of the Law but by the faithfulness of Jesus Christ. And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by the faithfulness of Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified. But if while seeking to be justified in Christ we ourselves have also been found to be sinners, is Christ then one who encourages sin? Absolutely not! But if I build up again those things I once destroyed, I demonstrate that I am one who breaks God’s law. For through the law I died to the law so that I may live to God. I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside God’s grace, because if righteousness could come through the law, then Christ died for nothing!"

All this because Peter saw James doing something wrong. James was with the gentiles, and when a Jew would come, James would find a way to leave the gentile's company. All this because some Jews still believe in circumcision. The facts here are about why the Jews were still performing circumcision when they didn't have to. You also need to know that not all Jews believed in Jesus being the son of God. Some would still perform the ritual, but Christians Jews should not have to, but some did. Now Peter had to go and get this straightened this out with Paul. They had a serious discussion on the matter of circumcision. It was a wild place to be. Paul understood what Peter was saying about Jesus and the baptism that replaced circumcision with everything that said. The thing about the Law that God gave. When Jesus died on the cross, the law changed to a more spiritual direction of grace. No more circumcision for anyone, no Jews, neither Gentiles. From that point on, all was good, and they carried out bringing more people to God.

Jesus showed everyone what to do in Matthew 3:13-17. At the Jordan river, He told John the Baptist that He had to baptize Jesus. John understood and proceeded with the baptism. Then a dove came upon Him, and God came and said: "This is my one dear Son; in Him, I take great delight." So there you go. Everyone who gets baptized does go through all of this. Heaven opens up, God watches, the Angels sing, and a party starts. That is what happens when you decide to do your baptism.

1 Peter 3:20-22, Tells a story of 8 people who went through some water. That was the first prefigured baptism. Yes, it was Noah's Ark that God asked him to build. God wanted to help humanity, but they did not want to know their Father God. Then, after many centuries, humankind finally got to the cross. The final sacrifice was to clean sins. Now that Jesus made the most significant sacrifice ever done by a human, He went home to be at the right side of His Father. Now both Jews and Gentiles can go to heaven.

Now, God has not removed the ten commandments, but He made them spiritual. He also added two more to that list. These two are crucial for all the laws and the prophets since the other ten depend on those two.

Mat 22:37 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.

Mat 22:38 This is the first and greatest commandment.

Mat 22:39 The second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.

Mat 22:40 All the law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”

Deuteronomy 5:6-21

Matthew 22:36-40

You shall have no other gods before me.

You must not have any other gods besides me.

You shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or that is on the earth beneath or that is in the water below.

You must not make for yourself an image of anything in heaven above, on earth below, or in the waters beneath.

You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I, the Lord, your God, am a jealous God, responding to the transgression of fathers by dealing with children to the third and fourth generations of those who reject me, and showing covenant faithfulness to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments

You must not worship or serve them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God. I punish the sons, grandsons, and great-grandsons for the sin of the fathers who reject me, but I show covenant faithfulness to the thousands who choose me and keep my commandments.

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold guiltless anyone who takes his name in vain.

You must not make use of the name of the Lord your God for worthless purposes, for the Lord will not exonerate anyone who abuses his name that way.

Remember the Sabbath day to set it apart as holy. For six days you may labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; on it you shall not do any work

Be careful to observe[m] the Sabbath day just as the Lord your God has commanded you. You are to work and do all your tasks in six days, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.

Honor your father and your mother, that you may live a long time in the land the Lord your God is giving to you.

Honor your father and your mother just as the Lord your God has commanded you to do, so that your days may be extended and that it may go well with you in the land that he is about to give you

You shall not murder.

You must not murder

You shall not commit adultery.

You must not commit adultery.

You shall not steal.

You must not steal

You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

You must not offer false testimony against another.

You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that belongs to your neighbor.

You must not desire another man’s wife, nor should you crave his house, his field, his male and female servants, his ox, his donkey, or anything else he owns.

"In him you also were circumcised—not, however, with a circumcision performed by human hands, but by the removal of the fleshly body, that is, through the circumcision done by Christ. Having been buried with him in baptism, you also have been raised with him through your faith in the power of God who raised him from the dead (Colossians 2:11-12)."

Romans 6:3, "Did you know that as many as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?"

Acts 18:8, "Crispus, the president of the synagogue, believed in the Lord together with his entire household, and many of the Corinthians who heard about it believed and were baptized."

Baptism is essential to be with Christ. It does not have to be today, but after you become Christians, your next step is to get baptized. That shows how Jesus is important to you, and your witnesses will testify you were baptized. Remember that baptism goes like this. When you down under the water, that part represents dying to self, and the next part is when you come out of the water, meaning you are born-again and ready to go to heaven.

May God open your heart to see the truth, and do come home. God awaits your reply.

Salvation is for people who have decided from the bottom of the heart, soul, mind, and strength to be part of Jesus family and with that eternal life. If you decided to stay away from God, that is fine, it is your decision.

There is only one way for the Holy Spirit to dwell in you, and there is only one way to get to heaven. That is by accepting Jesus. First, you need to believe in Jesus. Next, you ask Jesus that you want to repent and start anew. Ask Jesus to cleanse all your sins. Reading the words is one thing. Your intention comes from the word through your heart and soul.

Passages from the bible:
Romans 3:10-23, Romans 5:12, Romans 5:8, Romans 6:23, Romans 10:13, Revelation 3:20, Romans 10:17, Matthew 10:32-33

This passage will make your covenant truly part of Jesus:
1 Peter 1:16-25
16 for it is written, "You shall be holy, because I am holy."
17 And if you address as Father the one who impartially judges according to each one's work, live out the time of your temporary residence here in reverence.
18 You know that from your empty way of life inherited from your ancestors you were ransomed not by perishable things like silver or gold,
19 but by precious blood like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb, namely Christ.
20 He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was manifested in these last times for your sake.
21 Through him you now trust in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
22 You have purified your souls by obeying the truth in order to show sincere mutual love. So love one another earnestly from a pure heart.
23 You have been born anew, not from perishable but from imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God.
24 For all flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of the grass; the grass withers and the flower falls off,
25 but the word of the Lord endures forever. And this is the word that was proclaimed to you.

Warning to everyone:
Therefore, Whosoever shall confess Me before men, him will I also confess before my Father which is in Heaven. But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in Heaven.

The path:
As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Wherefore, as by one men sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. But God demonstrated His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. For the wages, if sin is death; but the gift of God shall call upon the name of the Lord. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart, men believe unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. Behold I stand at the door, and knock; if any man hears my voice, and open the door, I will come into him and will eat with him, and he with me. So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

The Salvation prayer:
I accept you Lord Jesus as my saviour. I confess that You, Jesus Christ, in my life. I believe You have been risen from the dead. I repent and turn from my wicked ways. You shed Your blood on the cross for my sins. I have been a sinner, and I recognize I can't save myself. Lord Jesus, I trust in you right now to save me from all hellfire and, above all, take me into your Heavenly Kingdom. Thank you for my salvation, Lord. I want the best I can have from You, in your precious name, Amen.
